Message from the President of the Republic addressed to the President of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria

Mister President,

I was deeply shocked upon being told of the tragic attempts perpetrated today in Algiers against defenceless persons, which deserve our vigorous condemnation and rejection. 

In this moment of suffering and mourning I wish to express to your Excellency and to the families of the victims of such attempts, on behalf of the people of Portugal and in my own personal name, our deepest regrets and solidarity.
