Visit to the Melgaço Cinema Museum
The President of the Republic travelled to the County of Melgaço, where he visited the Peso Thermal Park attending a brief explanation on the quality of the thermal waters, after which he viewed the new facilities of the Thermal Baths.
Dinner in the Stock Exchange
President Cavaco Silva took part in the Dinner of the International Consultative Committee of the Bosch Group that was held in the Porto Stock Exchange Building, during which he delivered a speech.
Prize for Peter St. George Hyslop
The President of the Republic presided at the BIAL 2012 Prize Award ceremony, which was held in the Abel Salazar Institute of Biomedical Sciences, in Porto, where he delivered a speech.
Exhibition in Porto
The President of the Republic visited the standing exhibition “The Engine of the Republic – Presidential Vehicles”, on show in the Transport and Communications Museum, in the Porto Customs House, and which will shortly be opened to the public.

The President of the Republic decorated, with the Grade of Grand Officer of the Order of Prince Henry the Navigator, the former Turkish Diplomatic Representative in Portugal, Ambassador Kaya Türkmen.
Prize awarded to Nuno Camarneiro
The President of the Republic presided at the award ceremony of the Leya Prize, which distinguishes works of fiction in Portuguese Language, and whose winner in 2012 was the Portuguese engineer and researcher Nuno Camarneiro, with the work “Under a sort of Heaven”.
