In the Forbidden City
At the start of the programme of his stay in Beijing, included in the State Visit now being held to China People’s Republic, the President of the Republic took a tour in the Forbidden City, in the Chinese capital, together with members of his retinue.
The President of the Republic arrived in Beijing, continuing his State Visit to China, commenced in Shanghai, having been welcomed with military honours upon his landing at the Chinese capital’s airport.
Signing of protocols and contract
The President of the Republic visited the Shanghai Institute of Medical Matters, having witnessed the signing of a cooperation protocol covering scientific research between this Institute and Minho University, as well as a contract with the Portuguese company TechnoPhage.
Conference held in SISU
The President of the Republic closed, in the Shanghai University of Foreign Studies (SISU), a conference on the theme “The value of languages”.
Meeting of entrepreneurs from both countries
The President of the Republic presided, in Shanghai, at the opening of the Portugal-China Economic Seminar, held in this great Chinese metropolis, simultaneously with the State Visit being carried out to China, and where he addressed a speech.
With the Portuguese Community
Included in the programme of his State Visit to the People’s Republic of China, the President of the Republic held a meeting with Portuguese executives who reside in the Shanghai region.
Meeting with Yang Xiong
The President of the Republic held a meeting with the Mayor of Shanghai, Yang Xiong, on the first day of his State Visit to the People’s Republic of China.
Meeting with Chinese entrepreneurs
At the beginning of his State Visit to the People’s Republic of China, the President of the Republic held a meting, in Shanghai, with a group of leaders of large Chinese companies in several sectors of activity.
End of Conference
The President of the Republic closed the international conference “Portugal – April Routes: Democracy, Compromise and Development”, which he promoted in Lisbon, within the scope of the Routes to the Future initiative, and in which the final debates were focused on the challenges faced by Development.
Conference in the Champalimaud Foundation
The President of the Republic opened, in Lisbon, the international conference “Portugal –April Routes: Democracy, Commitment and Development”, which launched a debate focused on the Spirit of Democracy, the Culture of Commitment and the Challenges of Development, and in which both national and foreign speakers took part.
