On the occasion of the celebrations of the National day of Portugal, Camões and the Portuguese Communities, the President of the Republic visited in Vale da Estrela, the COFICAB Company, awarded the 2013 COTEC Innovatory Product Prize, and opened the Centre for Technological Innovation of this industrial facility.

The President of the Republic met, in Guarda, individualities which became distinguished, in Portugal and abroad, within their areas of activity.
Message to the Diaspora
On the occasion of the National Day of Portugal, Camões and the Portuguese Communities, the President of the Republic addressed a message to the Communities of the Portuguese Diaspora, which he recorded in Guarda Museum.
Guarda welcomes the President
The President of the Republic attended the Council’s Welcoming Ceremony, held in Guarda City Hall, which marked the celebrations of the National Day of Portugal, Camões and the Portuguese Communities.
Raising the National Standard
In the beginning of the celebrations of the National Day of Portugal, Camões and the Portuguese Communities, the President of the Republic attended, in Luis de Camoes Square, in Guarda, facing the City’s Cathedral, the raising of the National Standard.
Arrival in the Ecolã factory
The President of the Republic travelled to the County of Manteigas, and visited the textile companies Ecolã and Burel Factory, in Amieiros Verdes, where he closely viewed the facilities and the various stages of the production processes.
Prize for Portuguese Origin Ideas
The President of the Republic presided at the Award Ceremony of the FAZ Prizes – Prize for Innovative Entrepreneurialism in the Portuguese Diaspora and Prize for Portuguese Origin Ideas, which was held in the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation.
The President of the Republic will decorate, at the Commemorative Ceremony of the National Day of Portugal, Camões and the Portuguese Communities, to be held in Guarda on 10 June instant, the following individualities and institutions:
Presidents in Economic Seminar
The President of the Republic and the Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto presided at the Closing Session of the Economic Seminar “Mexico-Portugal Business Opportunities”, which was held in Lisbon.
Ajuda Palace
In the State Visit to Portugal of the President of the United States of Mexico, Enrique Peña Nieto and Mrs. Rivera de Peña, the President of the Republic and Mrs. Cavaco Silva hosted a dinner in Ajuda National Palace, at the beginning of which both President Cavaco Silva and his Mexican counterpart addressed speeches.
