The President of the Republic attended, in the São Luiz Municipal Theatre, the performance honouring the actress Maria de Lurdes de Almeida Lemos (Milú).

On the occasion, President Cavaco Silva decorated Milú with the Order of Santiago da Espada.

Europe Day celebrated with the presence of the President

President Cavaco Silva debated the European Union and Portugal’s participation with young people
On Europe Day, the President of the Republic visited Jacques Delors European Information Centre, in Lisbon and, in a meeting with young people, debated the European Union and Portugal’s participation.

The debate between President Aníbal Cavaco Silva and the young people was broadcast live in the Presidency’s site on the Internet.

After the debate, the President heard the European Anthem sung by a children’s choir, assisted to a release of balloons and visited gastronomic workshops for youngsters, representing member countries of the European Union, organized for Europe Day, in the Centre for Education and Animation of the Belém Cultural Centre.
