Alentejo village witnessed a presidential initiative
The village of Mértola was the last stop of Campaign 1 of the Route to Heritage promoted by the President of the Republic, and dedicated to Lower Alentejo.
Route to Heritage in the district of Beja
Campaign 1 of the Route to Heritage, launched by the President of the Republic under the theme “Cultural Heritage of Lower Alentejo” continued with visits, in Beja, to the Church of Our Lady of Prazeres and to the city’s Regional Museum.
Route to Heritage launched in Lower Alentejo
In the beginning of the Campaign 1 of the Route to Heritage, the President of the Republic officially opened and visited, in the Main Church of Santiago do Cacém, the exhibition “The Pathway under the Stars – Santiago and the Pilgrimage to Compostela”, and addressed a speech alluding to the theme of the exhibition.
Audience granted to Miguel Mendonça
The President of the Republic received, in audience, the Speaker of the Parliament of the Madeira Autonomous Region, José Miguel Mendonça.
Ban KI-moon received in Belém
The President of the Republic received, in audience, the Secretary General of the United Nations, Ban Ki-moon.
Tomar was visited by the President
The President of the Republic visited Tomar, on the occasion of the Feast of the Trays, and assisted to the procession and benediction of the trays.
Election of the 7 Wonders of Portugal and of the World
The President of the Republic assisted, in Luz Sports Stadium, in Lisbon, at the show during which the election took place for the 7 Wonders of Portugal and for the 7 Wonders of the World.
Ceremony in Praça do Império
The President of the Republic took part in the ceremony commemorating the National Day of the Public Security Police, which was held in Praça do Império, in Lisbon.
Leaders of the EU and Brazil met in Belém
On the occasion of European Union-Brazil Summit, the President of the Republic hosted a dinner, held in Belém Cultural Centre, in honour of the President of the Federal Republic of Brazil and of the Heads of State and of Government of the EU that attended the meeting.

The President of the Republic received, in audience, a delegation from the Left Wing Bloc (BE).
