The President of the Republic presided at the Closing Session of the 5th COTEC National Innovation Conference, where he delivered a speech.
International Children’s Day celebrated in Belém
The President of the Republic visited, in the Gardens of the Palace of Belém, the activities organized by the Museum of the Presidency of the Republic to celebrate Children’s International Day.
To commemorate the 1st of June, International Children’s Day, the Museum of the Presidency of the Republic organized a number of activities directed towards younger people, its main theme being “A Garden for dreaming”.
Hans-Gert Poettering received in Belém
OThe President of the Republic received, in audience, the Speaker of the European Parliament, Hans-Gert Poettering.
The President of the Republic enacted today the decree law that establishes the legal provisions concerning the destination to be given to the areas comprised in the public hydro domain, in relation to uses compatible with this situation.
Conference on Social Innovation
The President of the Republic presided at the opening Ceremony of the International Conference on Social Innovation, which was held in the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, where he delivered a speech.
Jazz in Beato Convent
The President of the Republic and Mrs. Cavaco Silva attended, in Beato Convent, a Jazz Concert hosted by the King and Queen of Norway, held as part of the programme of the State Visit to Portugal of the Norwegian Monarchs.
The President of the Republic and Mrs. Cavaco Silva hosted a banquet in honour of the King and Queen of Norway in Ajuda National Palace, at the beginning of which speeches were addressed by both President Aníbal Cavaco Silva and King Harald V.
Arrival alongside the Tower of Belém
King Harald V and Queen Sonia of Norway commenced a State Visit to Portugal at the invitation of the President of the Republic and Mrs. Cavaco Silva. The Norwegian monarchs came ashore from the Royal Yacht “Norge" in the Princess Dock, alongside the Tower of Belém, where the King of Norway received military honours.
