The President of the Republic received, in the Palace of Belém, His Highness the Aga Khan, who is visiting Portugal over a 4 day period, on the occasion of his golden jubilee. The audience was followed by lunch.

The President of the Republic received, in the Palace of Belém, the Portuguese Olympic Team who, on the eve of their departure to Beijing, where it will take part in the 2008 Olympic Games, wished to present their farewell compliments.

During his trip to Northern Alentejo, the President of the Republic visited Fronteira, where he was welcomed by the Mayor and reviewed the investments and projects being carried out in the County.
Arrival in a landau
During his visit to the County of Alter do Chão, the President of the Republic officially opened the refurbishment of Castelo da Vila (“Village Castle), and was taken to the gates in a landau escorted by 30 horsemen.
