Children and youngsters with the President
The President of the Republic visited, in Porto, the Rest Home of Our Lady of Livramento, which shelters children and young people in risk situations, on the occasion of the 200th anniversary of the institution.
Exhibition in the former Relação Gaol
Included in the programme of the Commemorations of the Centenary of the Republic, President Aníbal Cavaco Silva presided at the inaugural act, in the Portuguese Photography Centre, installed in the building of the Relação Gaol, in Porto, the exhibition “Resistance. From the republican alternative to the fight against dictatorship (1891-1974)”.

The President of the Republic took part, in Porto, in the opening of the Commemorations of the Centenary of the Republic, assisting the raising of the National Standard in General Humberto Delgado Square and addressing a speech to the guests and people assembled there:

The President of the Republic received, in audience, the President of the Xunta de Galicia, D. Alberto Núñez Feijoo.

The President of the Republic decorated, with the degree of Commander of the Military Order of Aviz, Lieutenant Colonel Luís Manuel Ferrarias Correia, who ceased his duties as Head of the Communications Centre of the Presidency of the Republic.

The President of the Republic received the Standing Committee of the Council of the Portuguese Communities.
Formal Ceremony opens Judicial Year
The President of the Republic attended the formal ceremony celebrating the opening of the Judicial Year, which took place in the premises of the Supreme Court of Justice, where he delivered a speech.
Maestro Benjamin Zander received in Belém
The President of the Republic received, in audience, the resident conductor of the Boston Philharmonic, Benjamin Zander.
Solidarity Tournament in Vale do Lobo
The President of the Republic attended, at the Ocean Golf Course in Vale do Lobo, Algarve, the opening of the 4th Solidarity Portugal Golf Tournament, sponsored by him and from which the funds collected will revert in favour of the Humanitarian Association of Sufferers of Parkinson and Alzheimer Diseases.
ANAFRE meeting in Lisbon
The President of the Republic presided, in the Lisbon Conference Centre, at the Opening Ceremony of the XII Conference of the National Parish association, viewed the film “Good Parish Practice” and delivered an address to the delegates to the Conference.
