At the beginning of the 4th Campaign in the Route to the Innovatory Local Communities, the President of the Republic visited in Parede, county of Cascais, the 31 January School Association, where he met with individualities connected to the institution and with many of its students.
Meeting in Belém
The President of the Republic received, in the Palace of Belém, the President of the European Commission, Dr. José Manuel Durão Barroso, and members of the COTEC Global Business Forum 2010, whom he hosted for lunch.
Opening of Forum
The President of the Republic presided, in the Estoril Conference Centre, at the opening of the COTEC Global Business Forum 2010, during which he delivered an address.
Individualities from the entrepreneurial and political milieus will meet on 9 July, in Estoril, in an encounter that intends to provide a contribution for the reflection over entrepreneurial competitiveness in the world economy.
Presentation of the “’Cluster’ of the Sea”
The project and objectives of the “’Cluster’ of the Cape Verde Sea” were presented to the President of the Republic, in Mindelo, by the Minister of Finance of Cape Verde, Mrs. Cristina Duarte, in a session where the Head of State of Cape Verde, Pedro Pires, was also present.
Arrival at Mindelo
Continuing his State Visit to Cape Verde, the President of the Republic was welcomed by hundreds of people in the streets of Mindelo and was later received in São Vicente County Council where he delivered a speech.

At the beginning of the second and last day of his State Visit to Cape Verde, the President of the Republic visited the Port of the City of Praia.
Toast between Presidents
The President of the Republic of Cape Verde, Pedro Pires, hosted, in the City of Praia, a banquet in the honour of President and Mrs. Cavaco Silva, on the occasion of their State Visit, during which the Portuguese Head of State delivered a speech.

Within the programme of his State Visit to Cape Verde, the President of the Republic received, in audience, the Deputy President of the largest opposition party in the Country – the Movement for Democracy (MpD) - Eng. Jorge Santos.
