The President of the Republic presided at the meeting of the Council of State, which he had called with two items on the agenda – State Budget for 2011 and political situation – and addressed a statement to the media after the meeting ended.

CCP received in Belém
The President of the Republic received, in audience, the officers of the Portuguese Confederation of Trade and Services - CCP.
The President of the People’s Republic of China, Hu Jintao, carries out a State Visit to Portugal, on 6 and 7 November, accompanied by his Wife, Mrs LiuYongqing, in answer to an invitation from President Aníbal Cavaco Silva.

The President of the Republic received, in audience, a deputation from the Union of the Portuguese Speaking Capital Cities - UCCLA.
Award of the BES Innovation Prizes
The President of the Republic presided, in the “BES Art & Finance” Site, at the prize award ceremony to the winners of the 6th edition of the Espírito Santo Bank National Innovation Competition, where he delivered an address.
Opening of conference
The President of the Republic presided, in Oitavos, Cascais, at the opening of the conference “Portugal and the Sea, our wager for the XXI Century”, where he addressed a speech.
Academic Cortège in Covilhã
The President of the Republic attended, in Covilhã, at the invitation of the Academic Association of the Beira Interior University, to the march past of the “Latada” academic cortège, included in the undergraduate reception programme.
Statue of Dom Luis I
The President of the Republic visited Covilhã, at the invitation of the local County Council, on the occasion of the celebrations of the 140th anniversary of its being granted a City Charter.
