Welcoming reception in Velas
On the third day of his stay in the Azores Autonomous Region, the President of the Republic travelled to the Island of São Jorge where, in Velas County, he visited Uniqueijo – Union of Agricultural Cooperative Societies, producers of the well known local cheese, and later, already in Calheta County, went to the Fajã dos Ubres Belvedere.
Meeting with Azorean parliamentarians
The President of the Republic held a meeting, in Santa Cruz da Graciosa, with the members of all the political parties represented in the Azorean Parliament, who are accompanying him in the visit that he is carrying out to the Azores Autonomous Region.
Sulphur Grotto
The President of the Republic visited the Carapacho Thermal Baths, the Sulphur Grotto (Pothole) and the Ponte da Barca Lighthouse.
Meeting in Graciosa
Within the programme of his visit to the archipelago, the President of the Republic held a meeting, in the Island of Graciosa, with the Government of the Azores Autonomous Region.
Visiting in Santa Maria
At the end of the programme for the first day of his visit to the Azores Autonomous Region, the President of the Republic went to the Satellite Tracking Station of the European Space Agency (ESA), in Vila do Porto, and then to the Santa Maria Oceanic Control Centre, of the Portuguese Aerial Navigation Agency (NAV).

The President of the Republic was welcomed in Vila do Porto County Hall, on the Island of Santa Maria, at the beginning of his visit to the Azores Autonomous Region.
Arrival in Santa Maria
The President of the Republic began, in the island of Santa Maria, a visit to the Azores Autonomous Region, and addressed a message of greetings to the People of the Archipelago.
João Barrento honoured
The President of the Republic presided at the Award Ceremony of the D. Dinis Prize, which took place in the Mateus Manor House, at Vila Real. The award winner was the author João Barrento.
Exhibition in the Douro Museum
The President of the Republic viewed the exhibition “Dona Antonia - A remarkable life”, in the Douro Museum, Régua.
Inaugural act of new equipment
The President of the Republic presided at the inaugural act of the Valpaços Educational Centre where he delivered an address.
