Address in the BCC
The President of the Republic presided at the opening session of the COTEC Forum “The Portuguese meet again”, held in Belém Cultural Centre, where he delivered an address.
Following an item published today in a weekly newspaper regarding bills that are supposedly awaiting enactment by the President of the Republic, the Presidency of the Republic is pleased to clarify:
Meeting of the Supreme Council for National Defence
The Supreme Council for National Defence met, on a scheduled meeting, presided by the President of the Republic.
Reopening of the Citadel Palace
The President of the Republic visited the Palace of the Cascais Citadel after the refurbishment works carried out, and later opened the exhibition “Game of Glory – The 20th Century in Jovial Design”, from a collection of posters by Ricon Peres.
Decoration ceremony
The President of the Republic decorated the University of Lisbon, upon the celebration of its Centenary, with the rank of Honorary Member of the Order of Saint James of the Sword.

The President of the Republic received, in audience, the Governing Officers of the Portuguese Confederation of Trade and Services (CCP).

The President of the Republic received, in audience, a deputation of Solidarity Institutions, representing the Union of Portuguese Almshouses, the Union of Portuguese Mutual Societies, the National Confederation of Solidarity Institutions, the Federation of Food Banks against Hunger and Caritas Portugal.
The President of the Republic addressed a message to Parliament concerning the enacting of the bill that transfers legal authority from civil governments and civil governors to other Public Administration bodies in issues where legislative authority rests with Parliament.
