Dili Book Fair
The President of the Republic and his Timorese counterpart, Taur Matan Ruak, presided jointly at the inaugural act of the Dili Book Fair, and presented to the Government of East Timor two itinerant libraries.
Event in the Dili Portuguese School
The President of the Republic hosted, in the Ruy Cinatti Portuguese School, in Dili, a retribution reception in honour of Timorese President Taur Matan Ruak, at which the resident Portuguese Community was also invited.

The President of the Republic held a luncheon meeting with Portuguese and Timorese entrepreneurs who had previously held an entrepreneurial seminar on the occasion of his State Visit to East Timor.

Included in the programme of his State Visit to East Timor, the President of the Republic delivered a speech during a ceremonial session of the Timorese National Parliament.
Launching of the new facilities
The President of the Republic attended a ceremony celebrating the beginning of the construction of a new Chancellery and Cultural Centre for the Embassy in Dili.
Welcoming Cavaco Silva
At the start of his State Visit to East Timor, the President of the Republic held a meeting with the new Timorese President, Taur Matan Ruak, following upon the welcoming ceremony with military honours, which took place in the presidential palace.
New Museum in Dili
The President of the Republic took part in the inaugural ceremony of the Archive and Timorese Resistance Museum, in Dili, viewing the exhibitions being shown there, covering the themes “Resisting is Winning” and “East Timor’s Cultural Assets”.
Meeting with Vijay Nanbiar and Ameerah Haq
Within the scope of his stay in Dili, the President of the Republic received, in audience, the United Nations Assistant Secretary General, Vijay Nanbiar, who visited East Timor as representative of the United Nations Secretary General, and the Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary General for East Timor, Ms. Ameerah Haq.
