Following the rejection, by Parliament, of the Programme of the XX Constitutional Government, the President of the Republic continued today receiving social partners and other bodies in the entrepreneurial area, in order to hear their views on the guidelines of economic and social policy to be followed in Portugal, safeguarding, in the future, growth in production and job creation.
Audience in the Palace of Belém
The President of the Republic received a delegation from the Lisbon Office of consultants McKinsey & Company, who presented him with the results of the work study “Portugal: Choices for the Future”.

The President of the Republic heard today the opinions of employers’ confederations (CIP - industries, CCP – trade & services, CAP – agriculture, and CTP – tourism) concerning the economic and social outlook for the Country, within the circumstances of the rejection, by Parliament, of the Programme of the XX Constitutional Government, and regarding the guidelines for economic and social policies considered essential in order that Portugal maintains, in the future, a path of growth and job creation.
Decoration ceremony
The President of the Republic decorated, with the Grand Cross of the Military Order of Christ, the former Speaker of Parliament, Ms. Assunção Esteves and the former Auditor General, Dr. Guilherme d’Oliveira Martins.

The President of the Republic received, in audience, the Speaker of Parliament, Dr. Eduardo Ferro Rodrigues.
Champalimaud Foundation
The President of the Republic presided over the celebratory ceremony of the 25th anniversary of the IBM Scientific Prize, held in the Champalimaud Foundation, in Lisbon, where he handed the trophy for 2014.
The Court of the Auditor General carried out this year a Financial Audit to the accounts of the Presidency of the Republic for the year ended 31 December 2014.
Based upon the audit, the Court of the Auditor General issued a report containing a favourable opinion on the above referred accounts.

The President of the Republic received, in audience, the President of the Republic of Guinea Bissau, Dr. José Maria Vaz.
Meeting in Belém
The President of the Republic promoted, in the Palace of Belém, an encounter with the Coordinator and the Executive Committee of the Platform for Aid to Refugees, having delivered an address at the opening of the meeting.
Military exercise in Troia
The President of the Republic attended, in Troia, the military demonstrations carried out within the scope of NATO Exercise “Trident Juncture 2015”, held during the last few weeks in several Regions of Portugal and of other members of the Atlantic Alliance.
