Tribute paid in Maputo
The President of the Republic attended, in Maputo, a ceremony where José Manuel Durão Barroso, President of the European Commission, was honoured by the five Portuguese Speaking African Countries (PALOP), on the occasion of the Summit of Heads of State and of Government of the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP).

At the Cultural Centre of the Portuguese Embassy in Maputo, the President of the Republic made a gift of 800 literary works from his personal library to the Portuguese Language Bibliographic Fund in Mozambique.
