The President of the Republic empowered, in the Palace of Belém, the Secretary of State for Internationalization, Jorge Oliveira.

The President of the Republic decorated a number of individualities in the fields of Culture and Science.
The following individualities were decorated with several grades of Portuguese Honorific Orders:
The President of Ireland, Michael Higgins, and Mrs. Sabina Higgins, will hold a State Visit to Portugal between 9 and 12 December, at the invitation of President Cavaco Silva.

The President of the Republic presided, in Elvas, at the Inaugural Act of the Refurbishment of Graça Fortress.
Ceremony Ajuda Palace
The President of the Republic empowered today, in Ajuda National Palace, the Prime Minister, Ministers and Secretaries of State of the XXI Constitutional Government, having then delivered an address.
The President of the Republic received Dr. António Costa today and, in the terms of item h) of article no. 133 of the Constitution, accepted the proposal for the appointment of the following individualities for the offices of Ministers and Secretaries of State of the XXI Constitutional Government:
Tour of the exhibitors
The President of the Republic presided, in the Belém Cultural Centre, Lisbon, at the Opening Session of the 25th Conference of the Portuguese Association for the Development of communications (APDC), where he delivered an address.
SCND Meeting
The Supreme Council for National Defence held an ordinary meeting chaired by the President of the Republic.
