The President of the Republic will carry out an Official Visit to the United Arab Emirates at the invitation of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Sheik Mohammed bin Zayed al Nahyan, on 26 and 27 November.
In Abu Dhabi, President Cavaco Silva will be received, on 26 November, in the Mushrif Palace, by His Royal Highness the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, the welcoming ceremony to be followed by a luncheon.
On the afternoon of the same day the President of the Republic visits the Al Zayed Mosque, thus paying a tribute to the founder of the United Arab Emirates, Sheik Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
In addition to the political profile of the visit, the programme will also have economic and entrepreneurial features. Still in Abu Dhabi, a working breakfast will held with representatives of large corporations and investors from the Emirates. The President of the Republic will also promote a meeting with the participants of the First Portugal - United Arab Emirates Mixed Committee, which be held during the visit and will be presided, on Portugal’s behalf, by the Deputy Prime Minister.
In Dubai, on 27 November, the President of the Republic will hold a meeting with the Vice-President, Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the United Arab Emirates and Emir of Dubai, Sheik Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
In the context of this visit, President Cavaco Silva will meet the Portuguese Community resident in Dubai.
The President’s retinue, on this visit, will comprise members of the Government and an entrepreneurial delegation.
