The President of the Republic addressed today a memorandum f«to the President of the Constitutional Court requesting that this Court pronounce itself on the constitutionality and legality of the proposal for a referendum on the possibility of co-adoption by the same gender spouse or effective partner and on the possibility of adoption by same gender couples, married or effective partners, approved by Parliamentary Resolution no. 6-A/2014, published in the Supplement of Series I of the Official Gazette dated 20 January 2014.
