President of the Republic carries out State Visit to Sweden

The President of the Republic will carry out a State Visit to Sweden, at the invitation of His Majesty King Charles XVI Gustaf of Sweden, between 1 and 3 October next. The programme of the Visit includes the cities of Stockholm, Malmö and Lund.

During the Visit to Sweden, the President of the Republic will be received by His Majesty King Charles XVI Gustaf of Sweden, by Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt and by the Speaker of the Swedish Parliament, Per Westerberg. He will also be received in the Stockholm City Hall. The President of the Republic will also hold an encounter with the Portuguese Community residing in Sweden.

The Visit will have a heavy economic, entrepreneurial and innovation component, with several initiatives foreseen within this scope, namely the closure, with His Majesty King Charles XVI Gustaf of Sweden, of the Economic Seminar that will bring together Portuguese and Swedish entrepreneurs, and during which business opportunities will be approached, as well as strategies for the strengthening of the cooperation between both countries’ industries.

In this visit the President of the Republic will be accompanied by Mrs. Cavaco Silva, by members of the Government, by members of Parliament and by an entrepreneurial delegation.
