In order to obtain information relative to the stability of the banking system – one of the main objectives of the Financial Aid Programme agreed with the international institutions – and concerning the financing of the economy, a decisive tool for the Country’s economic recovery, the President of the Republic heard, on 30 November, yesterday and today, separately, the Chairmen of the Boards or of the Executive Committees of Banco Espírito Santo, Banco Português de Investimento, Banco Comercial Português, Caixa Geral de Depósitos, Montepio Geral, Banco Santander Totta, Caixa Central de Crédito Agrícola Mútuo and Banif.
