The President of the Republic will shortly appoint as Attorney General the current Assistant Attorney General, Dr. Joana Marques Vidal, the empowerment taking place on 12 October.
Following is a communiqué with respect to the decision of President Cavaco Silva.
“The six year mandate of the current Attorney General will terminate tomorrow, 9 October, upon which the Government proposed, to replace him, in the terms of article No. 133, item m) of the Constitution, the Assistant Attorney General, Dr. Joana Marques Vidal.
This proposal received the approval of the President of the Republic, and the empowerment set for 12 October”
