Contact with threatened birds
The President of the Republic visited, in Castro Verde, the Vale do Gonçalinho Environment Educational Centre, where he held meetings with farmers, environmentalists and members of local authorities.
The Sustainable Castro Verde project and the Castro Verde Zoning Plan were presented during the visit, and President Aníbal Cavaco Silva watched the freeing of three kestrels, birds of prey which are threatened with extinction and that have lived for some time in the Centre’s protected habitat.
