President receives the gold key to the city of Tarouca
The President of the Republic visited Tarouca, where he received, during an official ceremony held in the City Hall, the gold key to the city.
After the ceremony ended, the President and Mrs. Cavaco Silva called on the chapel of the local Almshouse, where the launching took place of the book “Tarouca Holy Almshouse – boons for its history ".
Before departing the city, President Aníbal Cavaco Silva paid tribute to the Portuguese emigrants, next to a monument erected in their memory, following this by a visit to the Tarouca Educational Centre.
