The President of the Republic and Mrs. Cavaco Silva will carry out a State Visit to the Czech Republic, at the invitation of President Vaclav Klaus, from 14 to 16 April next.

The President of the Republic will be accompanied by Members of Parliament and of the Government, as well as by a relevant entrepreneurial deputation.

The programme of the visit includes meetings with the President of the Czech Republic, with the Speakers of the Parliament and of the Senate, and with the Czech Prime Minister. The President of the Republic will also be received in the Prague City Hall.

The two Heads of State will preside at the inaugural act of a seminar covering the economic relations between Portugal and the Czech Republic, organized by AICEP and its Czech counterparts, which will be attended by entrepreneurs of both countries.

The President of the Republic will visit Charles University, where he will hold a meeting with Czech students of Portuguese language and culture, and will open an exhibition by Czech artist Jirí Voves, dedicated to Fernando Pessoa.

The President of the Republic will end his visit with a reception to members of the Portuguese Community resident in the Czech Republic and Czech individualities with Portuguese connections.
