Solidarity Tournament in Vale do Lobo
The President of the Republic attended, at the Ocean Golf Course in Vale do Lobo, Algarve, the opening of the 4th Solidarity Portugal Golf Tournament, sponsored by him and from which the funds collected will revert in favour of the Humanitarian Association of Sufferers of Parkinson and Alzheimer Diseases.
The unfavourable weather conditions delayed the beginning of the Tournament, in which 80 players took part representing the companies that contributed with sums for the support of the Association.
In the prize distributing ceremony, the President of the Republic and Mrs. Cavaco Silva handed the President of the Humanitarian Association of Sufferers of Parkinson and Alzheimer Diseases a cheque the value of which will revert towards the building of the future Algarve Regional Centre of Continued Health Care, to be built in Picota, Tavira.
