Information from the Presidency of the Republic concerning the legislation relative to the re-privatization of Banco Português de Negócios

With regard to a news item published today, in accordance with which the law relating to the re-privatization of Banco Português de Negócios awaits a decision from the President of the Republic, the following is made clear:
The Decree-Law which approves the re-privatization of the total share capital of Banco Português de Negócios, SA was received in the Presidency of the Republic on 4 December 2009 and enacted by the President of the Republic on 30 December 2009.
As such, the President of the Republic did not make use of the 40 day delay established in the Constitution to propound his view on the referred legislation.
