The following communiqué is published concerning the audiences given by the President of the Republic to the leaders of the political parties:

1 – The President of the Republic, after having received yesterday the Secretary General of the Socialist Party, received the leaders of the Social Democrat Party, of the Popular Party, of the Left Wing Nucleus and of the Portuguese Communist Party, in order to informally hear their views on the current economic and social situation, as well as regards the party political framework resulting from the elections held on 27 September ultimo.

2 – With a view to forming the new Government, the President of the Republic will formally hear the political parties represented in Parliament after the results of the elections held in the European and extra-European electoral circles.become available.
