Since the Election for Local Authorities will be held on 11 October next, the traditional celebration of the constitution of the Republic in the Lisbon City Hall, with the attendance of the President of the Republic, will not take place in the current year.
This decision, which was agreed with the Mayor of Lisbon, is akin to the practice followed in earlier years, when similar situations occurred.
The President of the Republic will celebrate the 5th of October in the Palace of Belém, which will be open during the whole day, and where the public may attend the several events which will then be held.
