Decorations awarded by the President of the Republic to entities from the Autonomous Regions, on the occasion of the National Day of Portugal

The President of the Republic decided to award decorations, on the occasion of the National Day of Portugal, to the following entities of the Autonomous Regions of Azores and Madeira:


Ancient Military Orders:

Order of Sant’Iago da Espada

  • Department of Oceanography and Fisheries of the University of the Azores – Azores AR (Honorary Member)


National Orders:

Order of Prince Henry the Navigator

  • D. Teodoro de Faria – Madeira AR (Grand Officer)
  • Dr. António Loja – Madeira AR (Commander)
  • Daniel Augusto Raposo de Sá – Azores AR (Officer)


Orders of Civil Merit:

Order of Merit

  • Dr. Henrique Manuel de Pontes Leça – Madeira AR (Officer)
  • Sisterhood of Our Lady of Livramento – Azores AR (Honorary Member)
