President of the Republic takes pride with the success of Vanessa Fernandes in Beijing

The President of the Republic took pride with the success of the athlete Vanessa Fernandes in the triathlon competition in the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, and addressed her a congratulatory message.

The text of the message is as follows:

"In my personal name and on behalf of all Portuguese I wish to congratulate you for the result obtained in the Beijing Olympic Games.

The medal with which you were awarded today shows the extraordinary will to win which has been the nature of the whole of your sports career. Portugal and the Portuguese are very proud to have in their midst an athlete with your dedication and talent.

Please accept my congratulations and best wishes for your personal happiness and continued success in athletic sports.
