The President of the Republic requested today from the Constitutional Court the preventive supervision of the constitutionality of Articles 22, No.2, and 29, No.1, of the law approving the new organizational structure of Polícia Judiciária (Criminal Police).
This request is based upon a possible infringement, by remitting to a simple administrative act the future approval of an innovatory order relative to establishing specific competences of units of a security force from which derive police practices which could affect the rights, freedoms and guarantees of the people, instead of committing these to a law or a regulatory decree.
