Ceremony held in the HGIB

President of the Republic named Honorary President of the Historical and Geographic Institute of Brazil in Rio de Janeiro

On the second day of his visit to Brazil, the President of the Republic was awarded the office of Honorary President of the Historical and Geographical Institute of Brazil, of Rio de Janeiro, during an event where he received the Collar corresponding to the decoration.

President Aníbal Cavaco Silva addressed a speech on the occasion.

After the ceremony, the President and Mrs. Cavaco Silva visited the Museum of the Institute and viewed Guanabara Bay from its terrace.
