In the terms of item h) of article 133 of the Constitution, the President of the Republic accepted the proposal put forward by the Prime Minister to appoint the following personalities as Secretaries of State for:
Civil Defence – Dr. José Miguel Abreu de Figueiredo Medeiros
Internal Administration – Dr. Rui José Simões Bayão de Sá Gomes
Rural Development and Forestry – Dr. Ascenso Luís Seixas Simões
Assistant and Health – Dr. Francisco Ventura Ramos
Health – Dr. Manuel Francisco Pizarro de Sampaio e Castro
Culture – Dra. Maria Paula Fernandes dos Santos
Prior to this the President of the Republic had already accepted the proposal to appoint Dr. Carlos Manuel Baptista Lobo to the office of Secretary of State for Fiscal Matters.
The President of the Republic will invest the new Secretaries of State in office today, February 1, at 12 o’clock noon, in the Palace of Belém.
