SOL Association

Set up in 1992, the Association for the Support of AIDS Infected Children and their Families – SOL – , develops projects for children affected by this virus or who have been orphaned due to it, promoting their psychic and social accompaniment and their educational and social integration, at the same time as it endeavours to follow up and professionally integrate infected parents.

SOL intervenes at national level, from the north to the south of the country, with greater incidence in the Lisbon area, and keeps as its guiding principle the quality of children’s daily life, sheltering children within a family environment, developing affectionate proximity, comfort, safety and the feeling of belonging, and equally endeavouring conviviality with parents and other family members, thus contributing towards the integration of some of these adults within the spirit of the enlarged family.
