Ceremony in the IPO
Mrs. Cavaco Silva attended, in the Portuguese Oncology Institute (IPO), Lisbon, to the award ceremony of uniforms to 59 new volunteers of the Southern Regional Centre of the Portuguese Cancer League.
Visit to the research centre
On the occasion of the State Visit to Portugal of the President of East Timor Peoples’ Republic, Taur Matan Ruak, Mrs. Cavaco Silva accompanied Mrs. Isabel da Costa Ferreira on a visit to the Champalimaud Foundation, in Lisbon. This was followed by a luncheon hosted by the Portuguese First Lady.
Visit to the Museum
Comprised in the programme of the State Visit that the President of the East Timor Peoples’ Republic and his Wife are carrying out in Portugal, Mrs. Cavaco silva invited Mrs. Isabel da Costa Ferreira to visit the Museum of the Presidency of the Republic.
Visit with Mrs. Candida Montilla de Medina
Mrs. Cavaco Silva and the First Lady of the Dominican Republic, Mrs. Candida Montilla de Medina – who has travelled privately to Portugal – visited, in Lisbon, the “Differences” Centre for Juvenile Development.
Charity tournament
Mrs. Cavaco Silva attended the prize award ceremony of the 7th “Portugal Solidarity Cup” Golf Tournament, which was held at the Tivoli Victoria Hotel, in Vilamoura. Funds obtained through company financial grants to the participant teams were donated to the Chairman of the Board of the Association of Parents and Friends of Mentally Deficient Adults – CEDEMA, Maria Antónia Machado.
Visita a Centro de Dia
Mrs. Cavaco Silva visited the Serra do Caldeirão Social Solidarity Institution, which manages a Daily Help Centre and provides home support to aged people in the wide territory of the Algarve hills.
National Coach Museum
Included in the programme of the State Visit of President of the Republic of Panama and Mrs. Marta Linares de Martinelli, Mrs. Cavaco Silva invited Mrs. Marta Linares de Martinelli to visit the National Coach Museum.
Paula Costa received in audience
Mrs. Cavaco Silva received, in audience, Dr. Paula Costa, President of Raríssimas – National Association of Mental and Rare Diseases
Awarding Prize
Mrs. Cavaco Silva attended the award ceremony of the Maria José Nogueira Pinto Prize for Social Responsibility, which was held in the auditorium of the Montepio Foundation, in Lisbon.
Audience in Belém
Mrs. Cavaco Silva received, in audience, a delegation from the Virtual Ageing Centre.
