Ceremony at UNESCO Headquarters

Award of L'Oréal-UNESCO Prizes for Women in Science 2007
Mrs. Maria Cavaco Silva attended, in the UNESCO headquarters, in Paris, the ceremony for the award of the L'Oréal-UNESCO prizes for Women in Science 2007.

Upon the occasion, Mrs. Maria Cavaco Silva was accompanied by the Director General of UNESCO, Koïchiro Matsuura, and by the President of L'Oréal, Sir Lindsay Owen-Jones, as well as by the Portuguese Ambassadors to France and UNESCO, respectively, Messrs. António Monteiro and José Duarte Ramalho Ortigão.

The President of the National Committee for UNESCO, Ambassador Fernando Andresen Guimarães, and the two winners of the 1st edition of the L'Oréal Portugal Medals for Women in Science, Mrs. Claudia Pereira and Mrs. Margarida Gama de Carvalho, also took part in the ceremony.
