Mrs. Cavaco Silva attended, in the Knowledge Pavilion, Lisbon, the award ceremony of the 2016 L’Oréal Prizes for Women in Science.

This year’s prizes were awarded to scientists Ana Faria, who is the leader of a project on the consequences to fish deriving from ocean acidification, Elisabete Oliveira, who is developing research on the implant of pharmaceutical drugs in cancerous cells, and Ana Catarina Fonseca, who studies unknown causes of some cerebrovascular occurrences.
