Mrs. Maria Cavaco Silva accompanied the President of the Republic during the whole of the 2nd Campaign of the Route for Inclusion dedicated to children under risk and to domestic violence, which took place in the Porto and Aveiro Districts.

Apart from the working meetings and visits to which she attended, the contacts during the Campaign, particularly with women and children who had been victimized by various types of violence, gave the First Lady a better insight of the conditions which have merited the special regard of the President.

Mrs. Maria Cavaco Silva was also present at the first public acknowledgement to the victims of domestic violence, which took place in Marco de Canaveses and where profiles were exhibited representing the 29 women and 3 children perished in 2005 as a result of abuse.
