The President of the Republic addressed a message of condolences to the Family of Lord Bishop Albino Cleto.

Following is the text of the message sent by President Cavaco Silva;

“Upon being advised of the passing away of Dom Albino Cleto, I address the bereaved Family my deepest condolences.

An outstanding individuality of the Portuguese Church, Dom Albino Cleto exercised a very relevant professorship and pastoral action, both through his humanistic sense of being open to the world and to the clear-sightedness with which, following the teachings of the Vatican II Council, he was able to read the signs of the times.
