The President of the Republic addressed a message of condolences to the Family of José Torres.

Following is the text of the messaged addressed by President Aníbal Cavaco Silva:

"José Torres was a sportsman who brought prestige to Portugal and who, due to his humanistic characteristics, will always be referred to by all who were acquainted with him. An exceptionally talented football player, he was highlighted within and without sports fields due to his upright personality, fine character, and as an affable and cordial human being who will be remembered by all the Portuguese.
