The President of the Republic addressed a message to the President of the Republic of Korea, Lee Myung-bak, on the occasion of the Country’ National Day.

Following is the text of the message:

"Mister President,

On the occasion of the National Day of the Republic of Korea, I am very pleased to address Your Excellency, on behalf of the People of Portugal and in my own personal name, our most sincere congratulations and wishes for your personal well being, as well as for the progress and prosperity for the Korean People.

I wish, on this occasion, to reiterate to Your Excellency my firm endeavour in the strengthening of the bonds of friendship between Portugal and Korea, in order that we may take full advantage of the wide opportunities for cooperation which are offered us in so many areas.

Renewing my congratulations, I beg you to accept, Mister President, my best wishes and highest regards.
