President of the Republic decorated Portuguese and North American individualities

The President of the Republic decorated, during a ceremony held in the Residence of the Portuguese Embassy in Washington, several Portuguese and North American individualities that had achieved distinction in their professional and civic activities.

Maria Teresa Paiva-Weed, Carlos Andrade, Gregory Rabassa and Fernando Rosa, were awarded the rank of Commander of the Order of Merit, and António Silvestre Matinho the rank of Officer of the same Order
