The Portuguese Community in Brazil numbers more than 500,000 people, including the bi-nationals, and is one of the most important Portuguese communities in foreign parts.
This community, totally integrated in Brazilian society, is distributed throughout the whole of the country, but with approximately 90% concentrated in the States of S. Paulo and Rio de Janeiro.
The community generated an important associative movement which is one of the more relevant means for the preservation and dissemination of Portuguese culture outside Portugal’s borders.
