The President of the Republic empowered the new members of the Council of State.
Those empowered as Councillors of State were Dr. Francisco José Pereira Pinto Balsemão, Dr. António José Martins Seguro, Dr. Luís Manuel Gonçalves Marques Mendes, Manuel Alegre de Melo Duarte and Dr. Luís Filipe Menezes Lopes.
