The President of the Republic attended, in the Chancellery of the Spanish University of León, the opening of the Meeting of the Chancellors of the Universities of the Centre North of Portugal and of the Public Universities of Castilla y León.

The Meeting included the Chancellors of the Portuguese Universities of Aveiro, Beira Interior, Coimbra, Minho, Porto and Trás-os Montes e Alto Douro, as well as their Spanish colleagues from the Universities of Burgos, León, Salamanca and Valladolid.

On the occasion, President Aníbal Cavaco Silva addressed the Chancellors of the Universities of both Countries.
