The President of the Republic visited the Strasbourg City Hall and held a meeting with the Mayor and Senator of the High French Rhine, Fabienne Keller, who awarded him the gold medal of the City.

During the visit to the City Hall, President Cavaco Silva met the youngest Portuguese descendant in the city, a two month old baby girl, the offspring of a Portuguese couple resident in Strasbourg.

Later, the President walked around several streets in the city’s historical centre, and, guided by the Roman Catholic Archbishop, visited Strasbourg Cathedral.
