Through a series of visits to higher educational establishments, to units of Research and Development, to centres of company incubation, to science and technology centres and to innovating companies, the President of the Republic wishes to become acquainted with the merits of the projects being carried out, and to evaluate the scientific culture, the excellence and the competitiveness of the national scientific systems and of the scientifically and technologically based entrepreneurial innovation.
