The President of the Republic addressed a message of condolences to King William Alexander of the Netherlands upon the death of his brother, Prince Johan Friso

Following is the text of the message of condolences from President Cavaco Silva:

“Majesty,

I was deeply concerned when learning the news of the passing away of His Royal Highness, Prince Johan Friso, Your Majesty’s brother.

In this hour of pain, I wish to convey to Your Majesty, on behalf of the People of Portugal and in my own personal name, our deepest condolences and feelings of great regret.

I beg you to accept, Majesty, the expression of our highest regard and esteem.
