Celebrating the 30th anniversary of Portugal’s joining the European Communities, the President of the Republic honoured individualities connected with the integration process.

In a ceremony held in the Palace of Belém, President Cavaco Silva decorated with the grade of Grand Officer of the Order of Prince Henry the Navigator Eng. António Cavaco, Prof. Doctor Fausto de Quadros, Dr. José Almeida Serra, Dr. José Palma Andrés and Dr. Teresa Quintela Moura.

Also decorated with the grade of Commander of the same Order were Dr. Abrãao de Carvalho, Prof. Doctor Armindo Silva, Eng. José Manuel Sousa Uva, Dr. Clotilde Câmara Pestana, Dr. Maria de Jesus da Câmara Chaves and Dr. Paulo de Almeida Sande.
